Women Only – Learn to Ride & Cycling Skills

August 2026 – Every Wednesday morning 

Location: Spark Green Park, B12 8EH (Also known as Stoney Lane Park, by Nelson Mandela School)

Date: Wednesday 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th August

Time: 10am – 11am and 11am – 12pm 

FREE – No booking required – Spaces limited, first come first served – arrive early 

Women only Learn to Ride Lesson, Building Cycling Skills and Confidence.

  • Taught by qualified female instructors
  • Bike and helmets will be available to borrow, however, these are limited and first come first served.
  • The lesson is 1hr long, starting promptly at 10am and 11am, arrive early for registration

Complete beginners, who want to learn to pedal. 

What to expect:

Our aim is to get participants pedaling without assistance, learning to ride a bike and experiencing the fun and freedom of moving on two wheels.

In these sessions we will teach the following:

  • Understanding safety equipment and clothing including helmet
  • How to carry out a simple bike check
  • Get on and off the bike without help
  • Pedal without help and stop without help

 

If you can already pedal but feel a little nervous or wobbly on a bike.

What to expect:

  • Learn key skills like steering, controlling the bike while signalling and braking
  • Perfect for people who have just started to ride or returning to cycling after a long time
