Cycle for a Cause – Help Us Reach 900km
Join us in at Midlands Art Centre for a fun and competitive cycling fundraising event! You’ll find us outside on the patio by the benches, hop on one of our static bikes and pedal as fast as you can for as long as you can to help us reach a total of 900km — tragically, 900 is the number of premature deaths caused by air pollution each year. This challenge is part of our effort to increase awareness of the poor air quality in our city and encourage people to think about how they travel.
The ecobirmingham team are taking on this massive cycle challenge – pedaling 900km in just 7days to raise funds which will enable us to develop/distribute our 69 Wards Walking and Cycling Maps as a digital resource and provide free activities in the community which aim to reduce reliance on private vehicles and promote healthier, cleaner transportation options.
The team can’t do this alone… we need your help!
Get involved: We’ll have two exercise bikes – generously donated by JLS Fitness – set up for a race to 900km. Jump on a bike and pedal to help us reach our target.
Where: Midlands Art Centre (Outside Patio), Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, B12 9QH
When: Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 23rd April, 09:00 – 5pm
A small donation is required to participate – This must be made via our Big Give Campaign Page, any amount you can give is greatly appreciated! Every £1 counts – All donations are doubled, so your support goes even further.
Prizes up for grabs – Come join the fun, compete, and help us reach our target!
Bring your friends and make a difference while having a great time!
*If you can’t make it but want to support our campaign you can still donate between 22nd – 29th April. Your contribution means the world, thank you.
Your donation:
We have secured match funding through The Big Give! This means every £1 donated through our Big Give page between 22nd-29th April will be matched by £1 from the Big Give until we reach our goal of £3500!
All funds raised will help us with distribution and promotion of our 69 Wards walking and cycling maps, and provide FREE led rides/guided walks and route finding workshops. Enabling people to see the city differently, gain the knowledge and skills needed to leave the car at home and choose walking, cycling and public transport more often.
All participants are required to make a Pay-As-You-Feel donation. You can do this via our Big Give campaign page or there will also be opportunity to donate by cash or QR code at the event. Thank you for your support.
