69 Wards Walking & Cycling Map

Expanding on our Secret Birmingham Routes Ecobirmingham are accessing cycle route and air pollution data and using it to help create an online map of bike friendly routes to link all 69 wards of Birmingham together to encourage sustainable transport behaviour.

The routes will highlight existing cycle infrastructure, green spaces, and quiet streets as well as key places of interest like shops, cafes, visitor attractions and local community organisations and assets. We are creating this map to enable people to access key places in their local area by bike/foot or if they wish, to explore a bit further. We believe this will play a vital role in enabling people across Birmingham to choose active travel for local journeys, leisure, as well as fun days outs.

It’s really important that we get input and feedback from local people and communities in every ward to find out the sort of things they would like highlighted and what they would like this route to look like so it can become a useful tool to be used to find the best routes across Birmingham when traveling by bike or foot.

Learn about the best bike friendly routes across Birmingham, how to access them and HAVE YOUR SAY by joining one of our route finding events or leave your feedback via our 5min survey.

Once the route is created, we will also use 3D data to target areas for led bike rides/walks and Bikeability sessions based on high levels of consumption-based carbon emissions, car ownership, and low access to health services. These will be listed on our events page when activities and dates are confirmed and available to book.
