Our aim is to help people to feel confident to be able choose cycling for shorter journeys. This is a great way to get active, reduce transport costs and impact on the environment. BikeAbility courses give you skills and confidence for all kinds of cycling. We offer courses for all abilities designed to improve cycling skills. Taking trainees from the basics of learning to ride, balance and control, all the way to planning and making an independent journey by bike.
Over 2019-2020 we taught 160 children & adults how to cycle, starting their sustainable cycling journey.
“The thought of teaching my three children to ride a bike was not only a complete non-starter, but a logistical nightmare… Esther was patient, a great mentor… so encouraging and positive. It wasn’t just riding a bike we were taught, but bike maintenance and bike safety too… As a family, we live as sustainably as we can, and riding our bikes has given us the chance to get active, improve our fitness and reduce our environmental impact by choosing a greener mode of transport.”Corinne, mother to three new cyclists.
“I learnt how to cycle more safely on my own and with my children. I will cycle in my daily life and feel more confident about going further. Excellent course and instructors, it was also great to get some safe cycle route recommendations. Very friendly and inspiring!”Level 2 BikeAbility participant.
