Greener Birmingham Coalition

Creating the City We Want To Live In

 #greenerbrum

We are a coalition of environmental organisations working in partnership across the city of Birmingham to drive action that improves our shared environment. We are your collective voice.

We want to inspire enduring change to the way our city’s residents live, our environmental impact and the way we engage with and manage our parks and green spaces.

Partners

ecobirmingham, Birmingham Open Spaces Forum, Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust, Climate Action Network West Midlands, Friends of the Earth, Slow Food Birmingham, RSPB, Canal and River Trust, Birmingham Trees for Life, City Park 4 Brum and a number of other community organisations.

A People’s Manifesto

During 2019 we consulted the people of Birmingham on the local environmental issues that matter most to them in the Big Green Conversation. The survey focused on what you believe should be the priorities for businesses and Birmingham City Council in improving our natural environment, along with what actions you will personally take. This was used to create the People’s Manifesto for Birmingham downloadable here.

You said you wanted to:

  • Protect green and blue spaces
  • Improve sustainable travel
  • Tackle plastic and waste

You can lobby your local councillor for environmental changes. Find your councillor’s contact information here.
