One Planet Living

The One Planet Living framework was created by social enterprise Bioregional, as a pathway to sustainability, and a means of addressing inequality and overconsumption. Currently we live as if we have more than one planet to support us – in fact, we’d need three!

The framework covers environmental, social and economic factors of sustainability, through 10 holistic ‘principles’.

We have created a library of resources on the 10 principles, including tips for becoming more sustainable, as well as useful links to other organisations. These suggestions are not intended to be prescriptive, but to help you start off your own sustainability journey. Not all actions will be relevant to your situation, but should help you get some ideas.

There are advice sheets aimed at individuals, small organisations, and communities – for example a council ward area.

You can use these resources to build your own Sustainability Action Plan, based on your own priorities, personal resources and needs. It’s important to remember that you can’t do everything at once, and don’t need to be!
