Education

We are committed to improving access to and understanding of the natural world for people across the city. Using Forest School, Craftivism and Permaculture principles, we teach about conserving the environment through experiential learning and habitat creation.

We offer:

  • Outdoor Holiday Clubs
  • Family Forest School sessions
  • Environmental and mini-craftivists workshops for school & community groups.

Wild Holiday Bunch

Wild Holiday Bunch is our popular creative outdoor holiday club for 7-11 year old nature explorers. It provides a safe and supportive environment for children, according to Forest School principles, to explore the world at their doorstep and themselves while learning new skills.

Activities include following mysterious trails, using clay to make paint and create amazing artefacts, making charcoal pencils, creating a natural fashion show from the flora available on site, learning about the trees and their legends, story-telling, and much much more… naturally there will always be enough time for the ever-favourite den-building and camp fire cooking!

Stories 4 Nature

Inspiring the future generation of little David Attenboroughs, our sessions for the under 5’s look at the natural world through the power of stories.

Taking place at ecobirmingham’s mini biodiverse backgarden, the sessions help children learn about their place in the world and how to care for what they love.

Mini-Craftivists & School Workshops

We offer Forest School classes, Arts Awards, visits and interactive workshops to inspire young minds; teaching children about their wider world, how to respect their environment, re-use, recycle, repair and respond to the environmental problems that we face.

“The children were so engaged. We have limited budgets here and limited expertise, so when ecobirmingham started the Mini Craftivists club it was something very interesting and curious for the children to be part of. It was a real success.”

Wild Bunch where you are…

We are always looking for new locations for our activities. If you would like to bring Wild Bunch to your school or community group, do get in touch.

“I spent my holiday active amongst nature. It made me more confident, more aware and caring for living organisms.”
