CLEAN AIR DAY – This year falls on 20th June 2024, the goal is to fuel the Clean Air movement by encouraging and enabling people and organisations to act on air pollution.
Air pollution causes heart and lung disease and results in over 36,000 people in the UK dying each year. Clean air is essential for our health, and the co-benefits of clean air measures are also good for our wellbeing as well as being good for the planet.
Through May/June we have been walking and cycling, making meaningful connections with people, seeing our neighbourhood differently, having fun, exploring and creating memories outside.
You are all invited to join our clean air day, weekend celebration and discover the possibilities of Cleaner Air, Less Traffic and More Joy when you travel by bike or foot.
In partnership with the MAC, there will be a small exhibition on the day showcasing our journey over the last few months, exploring local greenspaces, spending more time outside, discovering nature and wild places on our doorstep. As well as a guided walk, led bike ride and Dr Bike providing free bike checks and minor repairs.
This is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn about walking/cycle friendly routes by getting outside with a fun, social group. Suitable for all abilities. Everyone welcome.
