Come and discover the newly launched Sparkhill Park Bird Trail!
The Bird Trail is now open to all and free to explore.
Use ecobirmingham’s resources to enhance the experience or just enjoy the art work made by local children with the support of Juneau Projects.
Using the map, you can take a lovely walk around the park and trees, spot the hidden bird sculptures, and scan the QR codes to hear the bird sounds and learn more about the birds that live in our park.
Listen to the sounds and see if you can identify any of the birds and spot them in real life while you enjoy a peaceful walk around Sparkhill Park?
Listen carefully and keep your eyes peeled, they might fly by quickly or be perched high up on a branch of a tree.

The Sparkhill Park Bird Trail is the culmination of a partnership between ecobirmingham, The Friends of Sparkhill Park, The Springfield Project as part of the Sparkhill Child Friendly Neighbourhood.
It provides opportunities to connect with the bird population found at the park, learn some fun facts about each and get inspired by efforts to protect these species, some of which on the decline.
The trail was made with the support of artists Juneau Projects who led creative workshops in summer 2026 where local children produced the final clay birds, and nature champion, Chris Millward from Team4Nature, who recorded some fun facts about each of the bird. The recordings can be found on the online resource supporting the bird trail.
With our sincere thanks to Birmingham City Council’s Trees and Park Departments for their support and encouragement.
Getting there:
Parking space is limited around the park, we recommend using active or public transport (bus numbers 5 and 6 stop nearby/ bus number 1 stops around 500 metres walk away).
