Meet our new CEO

This International Women’s Day we are thrilled to introduce our new CEO, Kam Bola. An empowered woman leading our team with passion and vision. Kam brings an extensive background in education, training, behaviour change, and community work. Her business acumen equips her to lead our team effectively, while her experience working with diverse communities gives her the insight to support Birmingham in becoming more sustainable.

Kam’s passion lies deeply in the field of health and wellness. She believes strongly that if you are not feeling happy and healthy, then nothing else matters. She often says, “If you haven’t got your health, you can’t do anything”. When she’s not in the office, you will find Kam in a yoga studio near you, making shapes and guiding people through a yoga practice. Kam has been teaching yoga, meditation, and mindfulness across the city for the last ten years, and she runs yoga and wellbeing retreats to help individuals get some well-needed rest and respite.

Kam’s Vision for ecobirmingham:

Kam envisions a community where people take action to achieve good health, feel happier, and are kinder to themselves and the planet. She advocates for eating nutritious food that nourishes the body, mind, and spirit. Kam encourages people to make better choices in travel and energy usage, and to take pride in their local area. She believes in embracing the positive impact of being around nature, reducing waste, and connecting socially with others to nurture growth in communities.

A baton bearer for the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and proud to have been celebrated for her wellbeing and meditation sessions delivered during COVID-19 on the Birmingham Live platform. She is also a mother to two boys and a lifelong carer to one of her sons.

Known for her positive disposition and her passion for people, positivity, and the planet, Kam is dedicated to accelerating action on rights and gender equality, and her leadership is set to drive ecobirmingham towards a greener, healthier, and more equitable future.
