We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected to participate in the Big Give’s Green Match Fund 2025! This amazing opportunity means that every donation made during our campaign week, from the 22nd to the 29th of April, will be doubled – making your support go even further!
With your generosity, we can continue to make a real difference in the communities of Birmingham, working to promote sustainable travel, reduce air pollution, and improve the health and wellbeing of our residents.
This year, we’re focusing on raising funds for our 69 Wards Walking and Cycling Map initiative, a key part of our Project 900 campaign. Project 900 is named for the 900 people who prematurely die from air pollution each year in Birmingham. These tragic deaths are entirely preventable, and our goal is to tackle the root causes of this problem by reducing the city’s reliance on private vehicles and increasing the use of sustainable transport. With your support, we can help change the culture of travel in Birmingham, one step/pedal at a time.
Through Project 900, we aim to help residents discover beautiful walking, cycling, and public transport routes across the city, providing them with the confidence and knowledge to leave their cars behind. We know that sustainable travel can have a profound impact on our city’s air quality and the health of its residents, and with your support, we can expand this work to reach even more people.

How You Can Get Involved
We’ve got a week of exciting fundraising events lined up that will not only help us reach our target but also bring our community together in the spirit of fun, fitness, and sustainability. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Bring your little ones for a fun-filled scavenger hunt across Cannon Hill Park this Easter! It’s a great way to get them active outdoors while learning about local green spaces, and the biodiverse habitats within them – Prizes up for grabs for all finishers! FIND OUT MORE
Take part in our Static Cycle Fundraising Challenge on the outside patio of the MAC! Cycle a few miles, challenge your friends, and help us reach our target of 900km to raise money for our Green Match Fund campaign. It’s a fun way to stay active while supporting a fantastic cause. GET INVOLVED.
Join us for a guided cycle or walk through some of the most scenic routes in Birmingham, showcasing the city’s beautiful parks and green spaces. Whether you’re on foot or cycling, you’ll discover hidden gems and great routes while having fun exploring using sustainable transport. Both the cycle and walk will be circular routes from Birmingham Brewing Company in Stirchley. BOOK YOUR SPOT
- Finishers Party at Brum Brew – Saturday 26th April
After a day of walking, cycling and fundraising, come celebrate your achievements at our Finishers Party at Brum Brew! Enjoy a drink, chat with other supporters, and toast to the progress we’re making toward a greener future.
Come along to Attic Brew Co to find sustainable items and food from Birmingham-based independent businesses and join us for our upcycling jewellery workshop. Why Your Support Matter
The funds raised through the Big Give will go directly to supporting our 69 Wards Map campaign, which provides free access to routes and workshops that encourage walking, cycling, and using public transport. By helping to expand our outreach, we can reduce Birmingham’s reliance on private vehicles, lower emissions, and improve air quality across the city.
Your donation – whether £1, £10, £30, or £50 – will be matched by The Big Give, doubling the impact of your gift. £1 becomes £2 £10 becomes £20, £30 becomes £60, and £50 becomes £100! This is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference without any extra cost to you.
How to Donate
To support us, simply make a donation between 22nd and 29th April via the Big Give portal – donations made outside these dates or on our website will not be eligible for the match funding.
