International Women’s Day

Women across the globe are leading the way in encouraging the world to be kinder to the planet, live more consciously, and make lifestyle changes that will benefit the planet in the long turn.

Here at ecobirmingham, we’re celebrating our team of women who are leading change in the community by empowering others to create sustainability in all aspects of their lives!

Lisa and Esther, who make up our active travel team, encourage Brum’s diverse communities to live active, social and happy lives through the promotion of walking and cycling. You can check out their latest project, 69wards, here.

Jackie, who leads on food, supports sustainable living through coordinating our healthy eating and growing greens programmes, promoting healthy diets, seasonal foods and fostering a culture of empathy and understanding in areas of social deprivation. See our Power to Grow mentorship programme.

Anne, our Creative Learning Project Coordinator, encourages and educates children and families to nurture local green spaces, protect and restore land for the benefit of people and wildlife; collaborating with partners and working towards change. Find out more about Wild Holiday Bunch, Forest School, Stories for Nature and schools programmes here.

Our Communications and Impact Coordinator, Charlotte, helps raise awareness of our work, improves the reach of our projects and reports on our organisation’s impact. If you have a media enquiry, you can reach her at [email protected].

We are also excited to introduce Kam, our new Head of Programmes, who joined our team in January! Kam will be helping us to coordinate our projects and collect feedback from our wonderful participants, making sure we provide the most possible benefit to our city.

On this #IWD, we’d like to say thank you to our brilliant team of women! We hope you have time to read more about their projects, and if you have any questions about our work, don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
