True sustainability is about using less, not buying more.

Today we’re helping you discover small actions that are better for the planet AND your wallet.

Which ones will you try?

Reduce food waste

Eat it – Don’t Bin-It

Action: Before your next food shop, check what veggies and leftovers are lurking in the back of the fridge.

Why It’s Green & Cheap:  Making a meal from nearly gone veg like a hearty soup or stir-fry cuts landfill methane emissions and can saves you money every week

Bonus: it usually tastes amazing.

Think before you buy

Action: Before you buy new, check out local clothes swap events, charity shops, Vinted or Facebook Marketplace.

Why It’s Green & Cheap: Prevents impulse buying and saves you money while keeping stuff out of landfill. You also often find something with much more character than anything in the shops.

Buy second hand
walking, cycling and public transport

Outside is free, enjoy it!

Action: Swap a weekend trip to a popular tourist spot or busy leisure centre for a walk/cycle around a local greenspace like Cannon hill park.

Why It’s Green & Cheap: Traveling by bike, foot or public transport is an easy way to reduce your carbon footprint and can save you money on transport costs, fuel and parking –

Bonus: it’s also fun and connects you with nature and your local community.

Say No To Single Us

Action: Bring your own re-useable coffee cup or bottle from home.

Why It’s Green & Cheap: No single-use plastic or paper waste going to landfill and many cafes offer a discount for using reusables.

→ Win. Win. Win.

re-useable cups reduce waste
save energy, save money

Wash on 30°C and Fill the Drum

Action: Wash your clothes at a cooler temperature and wait until you have a full load.

Why It’s Green & Cheap: 80–90% of your machine’s energy goes on heating water. Drop to 30°C and wait till you have a full load — fewer washes, lower bills and a smaller footprint.

Living sustainably is about PROGRESS, not perfection.

Whether you are able to try one or five new green habits – Together we can make a difference!
