The sun has arrived and we have some fab events to keep you busy this June.

June events – from inspiring story telling and eco crafts for ages 1-5yrs, women only Learn To Ride, cooking sessions to outdoor play and an the amazing free family festival ‘Growing Up Green’ in Sparkhill Park you will be spoilt for great things to do.

What’s on:

Stories and eco craft sessions for children age 1-5 and their grown ups in Birmingham.

Stories 4 Nature at the Midlands Arts Centre in Cannon Hill Park!

Stories 4 Nature combines inspiring storytelling and nature crafts for pre-school children aged 1-5yrs and their grown ups.

Date: Thursdays 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th June 2026

Time: 10.30-11.30am

Location: Midlands Arts Centre’s Outdoor Terrace, Cannon Hill Park, B12 9QH.

The sessions create moments for children and their grown-ups to connect with the natural world, inspiring continuity in exploring green spaces, reliving the stories together and, in the future, valuing these spaces where positive memories were built.

Women Only Cycling Tuition – Saprkhill

Learn To Ride, cycling skills & confidence building

Date: Every Monday 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd June 

Time: 10am – 11am & 11am – 12pm

Location: Sparkhill Park, Stratford Road, Birmingham B11 4LX  


FREE – No booking required – Spaces limited, first come first served 

For complete beginners, who want to learn to ride a bike. Taught by qualified female instructors, bike and helmets will be available to borrow, however, these are limited and first come first served. The lesson is 1hr long, arrive early for registration. 

Wild Bunch – Family Forest School 

Weekly forest school sessions throughout the seasons. for both children and adults to connect to the natural world and create memorable moments.    

Date: Every Thursday 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th June 2026

Time: 11.30am – 1.30pm

Location: Knowle Road Allotment, Knowle Road, Sparkhill, B11 3AW

Monthly budget-friendly community cooking classes in Birmingham 

Date: Every second Friday of the month

ecobirmingham will be taking part with some storytelling and nature craft for families.
