Events and Activities – August 2026

After a very busy summer, we approach the last few weeks of August and there’s still plenty to get involved with – family forest school activities, adult cycling tuition – from complete beginner sessions to building confidence on the road, as well as women only Learn To Ride, pop up energy advice and the launch of our new walking and cycling routes to help you explore your local area, discover amazing greenspaces and cool places to visit – just in time before the kids go back to school.

Wild Bunch – Family Forest School 

Weekly forest school sessions for both children and adults to connect to the natural world and create memorable moments.    

Date: Every Thursday

Time: 11.30am – 1.30pm

Location: Knowle Road Allotment, Knowle Road, Sparkhill, B11 3AW 

For children aged 4+ and one grown-up

Women Only Cycling Tuition – Sparkbrook

Learn To Ride, cycling skills & confidence building

Date: Every Wednesday throughout August

Time: 10am – 11am & 11am – 12pm

Location: Spark Green Park, Sparkbrook, B12 8EH  


FREE – No booking required – Spaces limited, first come first served.

For complete beginners, who want to learn to ride a bike. Taught by qualified female instructors, bike and helmets will be available to borrow, however, these are limited and first come first served. Please arrive early for registration.

NEW! Local Explorer Routes – Birmingham

Inspired by Birmingham hosting the European Athletics Championships in August 2026 we have created some great routes so you can have fun discovering Birmingham and your local area by bike or foot.

DIY – Designed to be self guided these are a series of gentle walking and cycling routes highlighting local greenspaces, hidden gems, heritage sites and cool places to visit.

Group ride, social and friendly in Birmingham

Evening Led Rides – Bournville

Join us for a group bike ride exploring the local neighbourhood and connect outdoors. Bikes and helmets available to borrow.

When: Thursday 20th & 27th August

Time: 6pm – 7.30pm

Location: Start/Finish – The Hub on the Green, Bournville
